Brandon began his career at AES in July 2020 as an Associate, IT, where he served in IT operations, CRM services, and digital workplace initiatives.
From upgrading computers to extend their lifecycle, troubleshooting IT queries, to building Power Platform solutions that delivered real-time business scorecards, he learned the power of technology to transform workflows.
Today, as Associate Director, he focuses on Salesforce CRM, AI, analytics, automation, and digital transformation to drive smarter decision-making and client impact.
What are the biggest challenges you've faced professionally or personally and how did you overcome them?
Transitioning into financial services without a finance background was a major challenge, given my BSc in Geology and prior experience being entirely technology focused. I overcame this using my core strengths: I am a natural learner and an achiever, which ensured I maintained a mindset of continuous learning.
The teamwork value at AES was crucial. Colleagues were always ready to explain complex industry principles, which simplified them and provided immediate clarity.
This supportive environment rapidly improved my understanding. Ultimately, this success allowed me to quickly bridge the gap between technology, people, and processes, proving that adaptability and collaboration are my strongest professional assets.
What key achievements or milestones are you particularly proud of?
I’m proud of delivering scalable Salesforce CRM solutions that enhanced client servicing and operational efficiency across AES. Leveraging AI for intelligent data processing, insights, and automation has been a game-changer in improving how we work. Each project has not only improved systems but also empowered teams to focus on delivering more value to clients.
How do you personally define success in your career and life?
Success for me is predictable once you understand and apply the principles that govern it. In my career, it’s about continuous growth and creating impact, while in life, success is about living out my purpose, choosing what's right over what is merely good. Ultimately, it means aligning personal fulfillment with positive influence on others.
What practical advice would you offer someone looking to grow their career?
Be curious and embrace challenges that stretch you beyond your comfort zone, some of the best growth happens in unfamiliar territory. Focus on building relationships and creating value consistently, because long-term success is the compound effect of small but intentional actions.
How do you maintain a work-life balance?
For me, the work I do isn’t just a job, it’s part of my purpose. Rather than chasing a strict balance, I focus on prioritising the different elements of my life rightly, ensuring nothing essential is neglected. I recharge through music, which deepens my creativity and problem-solving, keeping me grounded and energised.
Reflecting on your decision to move to Dubai, how has the experience shaped you?
Moving to Dubai was never part of my original plan, it came as a fallback when I missed a slot for a master’s programme abroad. Yet the experience has been transformational. The city's fast-paced, multicultural environment instantly sharpened my adaptability. However, the experience was truly shaped by joining AES.
I continue to benefit from the company's diversity of people, its strong values, and a wonderful leadership that truly cares about both clients and employees. This supportive culture made my professional transition smooth and quickly broadened my outlook. It has encouraged me to think bigger about my long-term goals and purpose.
Looking forward, what goals are you excited to achieve next?
I’m excited to deepen my expertise in AI, fintech, automation, and business intelligence, areas that will redefine how financial services operate in the future. My goal is to harness these technologies to deliver intelligent insights, scale digital transformation at AES, and contribute to shaping a more innovative client experience.
