A firm built to make the world healthy, wealthy, and wise

AES wasn't built to sell financial or insurance products. It was built to positively change how advice is done. This is the story of why, and the standard that's defined the firm ever since.

The belief AES was founded on

The international financial services model is broken.

For decades, people living and working abroad have been sold products dressed up as advice, by banks, brokers, wealth managers and salespeople paid to push them. Complexity is manufactured. Costs are hidden. And the person the advice is supposed to serve comes last.

AES was founded to prove there's a better way: that financial advice can be a caring profession, built around the client rather than the commission. That conviction became a mission, to create positive change, for clients and for the profession itself, and a vision: to make the world healthy, wealthy and wise.

Everything else follows from that.

The story of AES

It started with one man and an idea: that people deserved honest, unconflicted financial advice.

Within months, other military veterans joined, drawn by the same belief. What began as a small team grew quickly. AES became the fourth fastest-growing business in Britain, earning recognition from Richard Branson, Barclays and Ernst & Young, and at its height held more than sixty licences worldwide. The Economist magazine called the founder "the Field Marshal of Finance."

But growth was never the point. The firm's real ambition was harder, and rarer: to hold itself to a standard the rest of the industry avoided. Over twenty years, that's what AES built, not just a business, but a different way of doing the job.

The same problem,
on the business side

The financial services model wasn't only failing individuals.

It was failing employers too.

Around a decade ago, AES saw the same broken pattern playing out in employee benefits. Companies were sold group medical insurance by brokers who placed a policy, disappeared until the next renewal, and left everything in between, the claims, the questions, the admin, to fall on HR.

The insurance existed, but nobody was managing it, and no one was thinking about employees' health as anything more than a policy to be renewed each year.

Rowers in a boat pulling together from above, reflecting teamwork, alignment and shared direction

So AES built an Employee Benefits Consultancy to do for employers what it had already done for families: replace a transactional, once-a-year relationship with genuine, year-round guidance. Not placing a policy, but building a comprehensive employee healthcare strategy, and treating a company's people with the same care AES brings to its private clients.

Two kinds of clients, one conviction: that this work should be a profession built around you, not an industry that sells to you.

The standard that defines us

The milestone that matters most isn't an award. It's a standard.

AES became the first, and remains the only, independently certified investment fiduciary across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, a region of more than five billion people. Being a fiduciary means being legally and ethically bound to act in the client's best interest, always, with no exceptions and no competing incentive.

It comes down to one promise: you get the same advice AES would give its own family. It sounds like common sense. In an industry built on commission, it's extraordinarily rare, which is exactly why AES made it the foundation of everything.

What two decades have proved

The proof of a standard is what it produces over time. AES was:

money

The first fee-based planning firm in the GCC, at a time when everyone else was paid by commission
globe-hemisphere-west-light

The first US-style global investment adviser in the region
handshake-light-1

The only regional member of the Global Association of Independent Advisors

None of these were the goal. They were the by-product of doing the job properly, for long enough, for enough people.
The recognition followed the standard, not the other way around.

Healthy, wealthy and wise

That founding vision still shapes everything AES does today, across two kinds of work.

For successful international families, it's Financial Life Management: building and protecting wealth so life is lived fully, and passed on well.

For employers, it's Employee Benefits Consultancy: healthcare strategy that keeps people genuinely well, not just covered.

Running through both is the same commitment to honest, independent guidance, the wise that ties the wealthy and the healthy together.

One firm, one standard, one purpose: to leave the people it serves better than it found them

FAQs

Why choose AES as a financial adviser in Dubai?

The main reason to choose AES as a financial adviser in Dubai is that it is a fiduciary, legally bound to act in your best interest, and the only CEFEX-certified fiduciary financial planner across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Most wealth management advice in the region is paid for by commission, which builds a conflict into the recommendation; AES is fee-only and earns nothing from selling products, so its advice is genuinely independent. It is also the only firm in the region offering an evidence-based investment approach with exclusive access to Dimensional Fund Advisors, and the first US-style global Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) in AMEA.

For anyone asking why to choose a financial adviser in Dubai, the answer with AES is simple: advice built around your life, from a certified fiduciary, not around a product with a commission attached.
