Our verdict

Swissquote is a strong, well-regulated and publicly listed platform, and that earns it a high trust score. Alongside forex it gives access to CFDs, exchange-traded securities and wealth advisory services, and for a self-directed investor it is a genuinely capable option.

Two things are worth knowing. Spreads are higher in the Swiss entity than the UK one, so which entity you use matters to your costs. And the platform's technical-analysis tools and opinion-led trading reports are, by design, built to encourage activity, and more trading usually means more cost and more opportunity for behavioural mistakes, not better returns.

As with any execution-only platform, Swissquote gives you the tools but not the plan. It suits investors comfortable making and owning their own decisions, who can resist the temptation to overtrade, and who do not need sophisticated wealth structuring around their portfolio. Where that structuring and discipline matter, advice that answers only to you is what adds the value.

If your portfolio is around GBP 500,000 or more, a no-obligation Second Opinion will show whether your current approach still serves your plan, and what it is really costing you.
