What particular challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenge I faced when I joined AES was understanding the insurance industry in the UAE. I was quickly able to gain a greater understanding of this with the assistance of my colleagues and by joining the Health account managers on their client meetings. This was a huge help to me as it provided me with the product knowledge required to develop within the team.

What key achievements or milestones are you particularly proud of?

A key milestone for me at AES was completing my Level 3 Cert CII exams within 12 months. I was given full support by AES on this journey and this achievement was an important milestone for me to further develop my knowledge.

Being promoted to Senior Associate was also a huge personal achievement. It demonstrated that I could continue to add value to the overall business and work effectively with colleagues across each department.

How has AES supported your professional growth and development?

AES has supported my professional growth and development in numerous ways. I was encouraged to complete my Level 3 Cert CII exams, which helped me gain the knowledge needed to provide the right advice to clients. I’ve also been supported with other aspects such as public speaking sessions, leading client networking events and getting selected for an accelerated leadership programme.

How do you define success?

This is different for everyone but for me success is the ability to keep learning something new every day and making a positive impact. I feel I have done this in my time at AES and the outcome of this is career progression.

What advice would you give to someone looking to grow their career at AES?

In my time at AES, I’ve been supported with opportunities to grow professionally through by leading client networking events and partaking in public speaking sessions. My advice to someone looking to grow in the company would be to proactively seek opportunities where you can work on something different and develop. Everyone is supportive, and it will help you become a better version of yourself by gaining more experience.

How do you maintain a work-life balance, and how has AES supported you in this?

I’m quite sporty so I usually complete an active session everyday (this can be gym, run, training or golf). I’m also keen on travelling and exploring other countries. One of the advantages is that we support one another during periods of annual leave, which allows colleagues to return refreshed and energised.

What future goals do you have, and how do you see AES helping you achieve them?

I’d like to continue my professional growth and development within the Health team and be a trusted leader to my colleagues. I want to add value by being involved with inter department projects and help the company grow. By achieving my goals, and helping with the development of others, I will be able to continue my career progression in AES.
