What is an international pension transfer?

What we mean when we talk about international pension transfers is moving a British pension into an overseas pension scheme.

Overseas schemes eligible to receive British pension rights are called QROPS (or just ROPS).

QROPS is an acronym for (Qualifying) Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes.
